Active Word

Discovering how the Bible makes life make sense-that\'s the practical goal of the Active Word. For over twenty years, Pastor Bob Coy has studied and taught the Bible, finding meaning in every chapter and verse and matching it to every joy and pain that real life brings. His desire to share the truth and relevance of the Bible "until the whole world hears" fuels the...   more >>

“I believe in a VICTORIOUS Savior that was able to conqueror what Adam did to us, Evil, The Devil, ALL Sin, The World, The Flesh, Religion, Man Made Doctrines, Man's Works, Man's Will and is ABLE to save us Without our Help or Permission.

"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will (not maybe) have ALL men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." 1 Tim. 2:3-4”

    “Mission Control

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV)

These two verses comprise what we commonly refer to as the Great Commission. Shortly before ascending into heaven to take His place at the right hand of the Father, Jesus gave the church its marching orders. It is our mission to make disciples of all nations by sharing the gospel, baptizing those who respond, and instructing them in the words and ways of Christ. Our faith isn't something to be hoarded or kept to ourselves; it must be given away in order to be worth having.

I believe most of us know this is our mission, and yet we frequently fail in it because we lack proper motivation. That motivation is given to us by Jesus, who is always with us. Sharing the cross of Christ is our mission, but our motivation comes from Christ dwelling in us.

Have you ever noticed the behavior of a love-struck couple? They're practically inseparable, always doing things together. The more they are together, the more they try to please and bless each other because that's the way a loving relationship works. When we recognize Jesus as our constant companion, we grow in our desire to please Him, and what pleases Him more than being involved in the saving of souls?

The Lord . . . is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9 NKJV)

If you know your mission as a Christian yet have a hard time finding the right motivation to do it, you need to allow the Lord's presence inside you to control and compel you. The more in love we are with Him, the more in love we'll be with the mission He's given us.
