5. With American Idol and the press coverage that you get, you've been given a big megaphone to communicate to people. A lot of people are listening to you. What do you want to say to them?

I think the thing that keeps me humble is knowing that God has given me a platform to really reach people and that there is just something about celebrities that when you see them , people they want to know what they have to say and they want to know what they have to think and I discovered this about myself on American Idol that God is the most important person in my life and that I cannot help but to tell people about Him and that caused a lot of problems while I was on American Idol but it is also when I look back it's something that I don't regret for one minute because I can see the fruit that God brought out of it. When I look now at my life and when I look at my career and my ministry, I recognize that God has given me a megaphone that I can speak into the lives of a lot of people that may not listen to me if I had not been on American Idol or they don't hear my music on the radio or if they don't recognize my name and so I take that responsibility very seriously. And more than anything I want people to know that there is a God who loves them and who has a plan for them and once you give your life to him, He will take you places that you've never ever imagined and that is, knowing that I have the opportunity to speak that into people's lives, that is something that I take very seriously and it's something that keeps me very humble.

6. What song on "Freedom" are you most excited about and why?

You know with my album "True Beauty", I think it was an easy question that I can answer, the song that I was most excited about. I find it very very difficult this time because there are a lot of songs that I feel so connected with. I'm gonna jump out on the limb though and I'm gonna say the song that I am most excited about is "You Wouldn't Cry (Andrew's Song)". It is a song that I co-wrote after having a relationship with a woman named Rebecca. Rebecca's a fan that I met at one of my shows but before I even met her I was able to hear from a friend of hers that she was a big fan and that she was having her first baby and so when I met Rebecca and I was able to put my hands on her stomach and feel the child growing from within her, it just it made me feel connected to her. I have since sort of maintained a friendship with her. The sad news though is that she lost that child. She was scheduled to give birth to the child a week after I met her and three days after I met her the baby was born, stillborn, born early and died within the womb. And so I wrote a song called "You Wouldn't Cry" that is from Andrew's perspective, that's what she named her child. And it basically is a song comforting his mom. It's a song saying I know that this breaking your heart, the fact that you don't have me here anymore but you should see where I am right now and it's a song saying that this place Heaven that we are all promised to go to as believers, it is more beautiful than we could ever imagine. And shortly after we demoed this song Steven Curtis Chapman lost his daughter and I just feel like this song will minister to a lot of hearts, from people who have lost loved ones and you know there's a lot of songs I'm excited about but I think this song in particular is one that moves me to my core because of the personal story that's involved with it.
