What began as two women being called into the fitness ministry and seeking the most entertaining, effective and life-changing exercise program available turned into ROCKSOLID Fitness Programs. Following is His story as it is currently playing out in our lives:Terese and I began looking and could not find effective, life-changing programming that was being taught to clean, fun, uplifting Christian music. We both had been teaching in the industry for 20 years and had listened as the lyrics became increasingly offensive to the King. (As an aside: just call us a couple of stick-in-the-muds, fuddy-duds, no fun, blah, blah, blah! We acknowledge we are getting older but we are super fun! Actually, Terese is older than me and I\\\\\\'m more fun than her!)And so I digress. Back to the subject at hand, a couple of years ago I, Monica, was suddenly aware of a soon-to-be teenage daughter and her listening to my iPod. As I was carefully monitoring everything she listened to on my iPod, I thought to myself, "Why am I allowing this music and these lyrics to be drilled into my head? What about all of the people who come to class?" Have you ever caught yourself walking along and singing a song you didn\\\\\\'t even realize you knew? Music is powerful. So, I had a decision to make. After 22 years in the business, the last ten teaching "pre-choreographed" fitness classes, the questions were: Do I continue down the wide path receiving my music, choreography notes, and DVD\\\\\\'s in the mail; memorizing the release and then throwing all the filth back at the folks coming to class? Or, do I take the road less traveled, risk being ridiculed, prepare to get really uncomfortable and step out in obedience to my heavenly Father? I chose the latter. (Ok, I knew the Lord had been prompting me for a couple of years. He was telling me my time was done in my previous position but I stayed on ¢ï¿½ï¿½ and I stayed on a bit too long. Terese and I are both members at First Baptist Cchurch Woodstock and went public with our ministry in early October 2008 by walking the aisle and stating our intention to our Pastor, Johnny Hunt. WARNING: When you "go public" with your ministry batten down the hatches because, literally, all hell is about to break loose! The Lord finally kicked me out via an earthly shoe on my fleshly rear end. It\\\\\\'s funny how a swift kick in the britches can have a lingering hurt affect on your heart.) As for me, Terese, I had the opportunity to utilize Christian music in Group Fitness Classes back in the 80\\\\\\'s (yes, Monica is correct; I\\\\\\'m older but not sure about her being more fun!); however, I knew that there had to be more to offer within the Christian fitness setting. In 2005, I was introduced to "pre-choreographed" fitness classes and my heart\\\\\\'s desire for intentional Christian Group Fitness Programming was brought to the surface once again. Not long after re-entering Group Fitness as an Instructor, I too was "booted" from my position in corporate America. One day later, I began my own journey on the road less traveled as I participated in my first initial training. The last 4 years have been an adventure that has required much risk and pain, yet well worth the physical, emotional, and spiritual training that the Lord has taken me through thus far. We look forward to sharing the journey together with you! The Truth is we love our heavenly Father. We also love people and have been called into relationship to step out and draw others unto Him! We serve a relational God. After all, He sent His only Son to come to earth and suffer through becoming a man. His Son Who loves you so much He suffered ridicule and pain and death on the cross so you can know freedom in Him! Wow! He thinks you are great and He created you for His purpose. He has plans for you! If you don\\\\\\'t know Him, I mean really intimately know Him, then please come. You can spend two, three or more hours a week hearing His words spoken to you through music. If you are weary and heavily burdened ¢ï¿½ï¿½ come. You will find rest in His words and in fellowship. If you have an abundance of joy then please ¢ï¿½ï¿½ come. He wants you to share your joy with the broken-hearted. There is strength in numbers and we heard our heavenly Father tell us, "Bring me an army." The time is now. He is calling ¢ï¿½ï¿½ come.
