Finally, we are here!
We come a long way to find Wajima-Nuri lacquerware. But you won't be sorry to be at this north end of the Noto Peninsula. This small town by the bay provides a cozy, friendly atmosphere, broad views of ocean, and mouth watering fresh seafood.
- Asa-ichi ( Morning Market )
- Get up early and stroll down the loud street of Asa-ichi. You will find the freshest seafood and interesting crafts, and, of course, energetic Wajima women there. Hours are 8am to 11am. There is also Yu-ichi ( Evening Market ) from 4pm to 6pm.
- Wajima Shikki-Kaikan ( Wajima Lacquerware Art Museum )
- This is Japan's first lacquerware are museum. Here you are able to see the process of making Wajima-Nuri lacquerware, as well as many different kinds of lacquerware products. Also, you can purchase them at the spot. Entrance fee is 200 yen. phone : 0768-22-2155
