1 Timothy 6:9
1Tim6:1 All who are under the yoke as slaves are to regard their own masters as worthy of all honor so that the name of God and our doctrine will not be spoken against.1Tim6:2 Those who have believers as their masters must not be disrespectful to them because they are brethren, but must serve them all the more, because those who partake of the benefit are believers and beloved. Teach and preach these principles.1Tim6:3 If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness,1Tim6:4 he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions,1Tim6:5 and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain.1Tim6:6 But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment.1Tim6:7 For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either.1Tim6:8 If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content.9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. 1Tim6:10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.1Tim6:11 But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.1Tim6:12 Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.1Tim6:13 I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate,1Tim6:14 that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,1Tim6:15 which He will bring about at the proper time--He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords,1Tim6:16 who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.1Tim6:17 Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.1Tim6:18 Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,1Tim6:19 storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.1Tim6:20 O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding worldly and empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called “knowledge”--1Tim6:21 which some have professed and thus gone astray from the faith. Grace be with you.

“The verse here says, "those who want to get rich". Why would I want to get rich when I am a servant of the Most High God who has all riches available to Him. If doing His Work requires earthly money, won't He provide that too. Jesus pulled his taxes out of the mouth of a fish. To be content with my station in life, it is exactly where God needs me to be to shine as a light in this dark world. To be a faithful steward over what he intrusts me with so I am a testimony to others by my life, of how Awesome and Rich Our God is.”

Ribbons The Clown & Company, Inc. posted God WANTS us RICH, but NOT to LOVE money.. (Nov 07, 2009)

“Part of our covenant is to be rich. God needs us to be like Him, Rich so we can bless others and show His love. He wants us to support the gospel. Do you know only 10% of the Christan tithe? wow if only they understood that it is part of the covenant to tithe. We are NOT TO LOVE money. We are to LOVE God. We are to use money to bless people and build the kingdom! To take a vow of poverty is not godly but in ignorance of the covenant and lack of knowledge of God's personality. IT is a temptation for people to want to keep it all of themselves and not rich toward GOD!”

“When people are rich, they tend to forget about God and dwells on what they desire; such as gold, shoes, car, clothes, and then they tend to want more and more and looses focus of God. God wants us to be rich in him by love and we are not to worry about the things of the world like clothes, and money because once u accept God allthose things will be added unto to. I've never seen a righteous pastor dwell in poverty before, even if they do it may be just a test from God but i assure u they will bounce back if they're heart is in the right place”

Mat Loter posted Give Me Neither Poverty nor Wealth. (Oct 07, 2009)

“This is the reason why Solomon, made by God to be the wisest man in the world prayed: "give me neither poverty nor wealth." If we're too poor we might curse God; if we're too rich we might forget God because we don't feel we need Him. The Bible says, it's easier for the camel to pass through the needle than a rich man to be saved. When a rich man asked Jesus how he can be saved, His answer was: "Go and sell your posessions and give to the poor." Therefore, we can conclude that riches is a stumbling block to salvation. ”

“My first thought when reading this verse was looking at many of our celebrities that appear to have it all (RICH) yet they appear foolish and get into harmful habits which sadly have led many to their downfall and some to their death (DESTRUCTION).”

Ribbons The Clown & Company, Inc. posted Prosperty is a ENDTIME gospel, God needs us RICH!. (Sep 22, 2009)

“God needs us rich to establish His covenant. The fact that God wants us rich is a hard fought truth in the Bible. Many fight this idea because they think being poor is humble. But that is a deception of the devil. You need to be well off so you can give to every good work. Have you ever seen a mission your were draw to give to but only had a few dollars. If you were very wealthy you would give them thousands or millions? God wants us to live like we will in Heaven, He wants us to be able to support the spreading of the gospel and have more than enough. In these end times when all kinds of bad stuff is gona happen He wants you to maybe feed hundreds or provide water for your town or give your cars to a person in need. You give your children good gifts let God give you His BEST.”

“Wow, Gods word is so alive in this verse- it's as if he were talking to this generation- our greed, our egos, our desire to be what we are not and have what we cannot afford is what has gotten us into the economic turmoil we are in- Timothy reminds us of this evil”

edwin joseph posted Money Is Evil. (Sep 09, 2009)

“This is a very sad truth because I personaly a friend of mine destructed by the love of money. When she was a bit struggling for provision, she prayed so hard for God's blessing and even desire to have her own business. God granted her request but in the end she turned away from God and followed her evil desires which started from the love of money. There's nothing wrong with money, but love for it more than God makes it evil.”
