“What an amazing promise! I find so much comfort in this because i am talking to Him ALLL the time; when i'm driving around, in between classes, IN class.... you get the idea. It's so wonderful to know that the Holy Spirit is there whenever we're in need to just chat or it's an emergency and we just need a hug 'cause our faith has failed! ”

““Life words”
In 1990, Bette Midler recorded the song From a Distance. Her rendition became an instant hit—soaring to the top of the pop charts. Not only did it win a Grammy, it went on to become one of the most requested songs on Saudi Band Radio during the First Gulf War.
The chorus to the song states, “God is watching us. God is watching us. God is watching us—from a distance.”
God is watching us. That reassuring thought is a likely reason why so many in the military were drawn to the song. But the song has it wrong—God is not watching over us from a distance.
God isn’t peering over the edge of heaven’s walls, looking down on us from far, far away. The message of the Bible is that God is near (Psalm 145:17-19). That’s why the baby Jesus received a very special name: “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us’ ” (Matthew 1:23). The apostle John wrote that Jesus “became human and made His home among us” (John 1:14). And after rising from the dead, as He was about to ascend into heaven, He said to His followers, “Be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).
Though Jesus is “away” from us in His glorified body, God’s Spirit lives in the hearts of those of us who are His children by faith (Galatians 4:6). The New Testament encourages us to “come close to God, and God will come close to you” (James 4:8).
That’s anything but distant.
God is truly with us—not simply to keep us in line but to help us overcome the evil one, and to live the life He meant for us to live (1 John 3:8). —Jeff Olson, Our Daily Journey

Rusty Rueff posted Riding In The Golf Cart: Purposed worKING. (Aug 10, 2009)
“From: http://purposedworking.blogspot.com
I had a very interesting conversation with a business colleague the other day who when we were discussing how best to get things done at work, he said that if you really want to influence the boss and be an impact at work, it is not about getting to the Board Room, it is really about getting to ride in the golf cart with the boss. As I listened to him talk, I realized how true this statement can be. The golf cart can be taken literally or figuratively. For some bosses, literally the golf course and the golf cart is where things get done because to get to that seat we have to be trusted, influential, liked, and at the right hand of the boss. Otherwise, we never get invited. For other bosses, they have their own "thing" outside of work that they will share with certain subordinates and not others. These times can be some of the best times in our careers, but they can also be times of creating animosity with others on the team, etc. So, like many areas in work, something good can be something bad. Yet, the point is that to get some things accomplished, we have to be able to be close enough to our boss that she/he will allow us in the inside circle. And, when we are managers, we do the same thing to those who work for us. So, when we are in our jobs we have to understand that the relationships we build with others is really the best goal we can have in our jobs. To be close to our co-workers and allow them to be close to us can be very powerful. God also wants us to be close to Him and He invites us into His "golf cart" each and every day. We read in Psalm 145:18: "The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth." We can not only in our jobs model the way we are supposed to manage our relationships, but we can also, more importantly, ensure that we are allowing ourselves to accept God's constant open invitation to join Him in His inner circle just by calling on Him. Today, think about the areas in your job that you could use that extra support and confidence. God is waiting for you to call on Him. When you do, he will be there, as close as you could ever imagine.

Nathan Ard posted Where's the Faith?. (Jul 01, 2009)
“This verse talks about how when you pray the Lord God Almighty will be right next to you hearing your prayers. But the catch is that it talks about praying in Truth. When praying in truth you need to humble yourself to the Lord like the parable of the tax collecter and the pharisee in luke 18: 9-14, showing how awsome God truly is and realizing that we're nobody in this world and God deserves the Highest Praise. If we don't follow God's ways and do what he asks, then how can God do what we ask? Brothers we must be serious with God. We need to pray continuasly and run to the Lord's open arms. May God help us all. Amen.”

“I've been thinking about this verse for a few days now. How awesome that anytime I call on God He's here! I have started talking to God the way I talk to a friend and His presence came because He is near to those who call upon Him. He truly is with me always and He truly is near to all who call upon Him!”
