Joshua Straub, Ph.D. is a burgeoning young professional in the Christian counseling movement at large. Having served on the executive staff for the nearly 50,000 member American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) for more than four years and as a pastor, counselor, or professor since 2000, Josh now spends his time training professionals in crisis and trauma and speaking to Christian counselors, pastors, and lay leaders across America on issues related to the Millennial Generation and on cultivating healthy relationships both with God and others. Josh serves as the Director of Member Relations and Director of Public and Media Relations for the AACC and has served as a Youth Pastor for Xtreme Youth Alliance making occasional guest appearances on XTRLive, a nationally syndicated teen talk radio program heard weekly. Since early 2008 he has been touring with Acquire the Fire speaking to youth pastors and leaders across America on building relational ministries and helping teens in crisis. Certified as a Trained Trainer for Basic Group, Individual Crisis Intervention (CISM), and Managing School Crises with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF), Josh trains hundreds of professionals a year in Critical Incident Stress Management. He is a member of the AACC National Crisis Response Team and is also a Resident-in-Training at Light Counseling Inc. working toward State Licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Previously, Josh served as a Youth Development Counselor in a maximum security juvenile detention center in Pennsylvania, as Associate Pastor of Family Life Ministries at Jacksonville Chapel in Lincoln Park, NJ and has taught psychology and family development courses at both Nyack College, Nyack, NY and Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA.Josh loves to be outdoors hiking, hunting, fishing, and boating. He burdens to see a generation of leaders rise beyond the mundane, to break free from merely existing and to discover a life of reason and passion bent wholeheartedly on seeing Christ glorified.
